Learning outcome:

Professional studies in coaching make students well-rounded coaching specialists and give them skills for working as coaches and trainers on the union, regional and club levels.

Core content of the study unit:

  • must know, 80 %:
    • ethics of competitive and top-level sports
    • athlete’s life cycle
    • holistic coaching; mental and physical training methods and their application in practice
    • sports type analysis and athlete analysis
    • testing in top-level sports
    • general and type-specific programming in coaching
    • most common sports injuries, their prevention and treatment (incl. taping)
    • antidoping
    • analysis of athlete’s nutrition
    • management skills
  • should know, 15 %:
o    taking individuality into consideration in the coaching process
    • technical applications of motion analysis in the processes of learning sports type skills
o    special topics in coaching physiology; tiring, special conditions, excess condition
o    most common athlete’s illnesses
  • nice to know, 5 %:
o    special topics in mental coaching
o    biomechanical applications of sports type coaching
o    special topics in type-specific, training season and individual nutrition
