Managing Operational Business Processes

Designing and Marketing Tourism Services (project)

The student knows the principles of daily operational management of a company or an organisation. He/she learns the perspective of operational management as contribution to the company’s long-term success. The student understands the significance of business plan and is able to implement its principles in operational business processes and furthermore apply it into practice. He/she deepens his/her understanding and knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning. The student is able to understand profitability from the perspective of revenue management. He/she knows how to pay attention to the core duties of a superior from the operational management perspective.

The student has profound understanding of daily operations in tourism. He/she understands very well the significance of strategy and is able to implement its principles in practice. The student has deep understanding of the importance of business processes and can apply them in tourism and hospitality-related daily operations. He/she has profound knowledge of the utilisation of Enterprise Resource Planning. The student is able to understand profitability from the perspective of revenue management on a holistic level. The student participates in the contact lessons actively and shows analytical, reflective and critical approach in all his/her activities. All the assignments are performed according to the instructions.

Very good (4)

The student has good understanding of daily operations in tourism. He/she understands well the significance of strategy and is able to implement its principles in practice. The student has good understanding of the importance of business processes and can apply them in tourism and hospitality-related daily operations. He/she has good knowledge of the utilisation of Enterprise Resource Planning. The student is able to understand profitability from the perspective of revenue management on a good level. The student participates in the contact lessons actively and shows analytical, reflective and critical approach in his/her activities. All the assignments are performed according to the instructions.

The assignments are performed somehow according to the instructions.

Poor (1)

The student has little understanding of daily operations in tourism. He/she understands somehow the significance of strategy but cannot implement its principles in practice. The student has some understanding of business processes. He/she has little knowledge of the utilisation of Enterprise Resource Planning. The student is somehow able to understand profitability from the perspective of revenue management. The student participates in the contact lessons but does not really show analytical, reflective and critical approach in his/her activities. The assignments are not performed according to the instructions.

Fail (0)

The student does not complete the assignments according to instructions or does not attend the learning situations at all. He/she does not pass the assignments, tests and/or the exam as required.

Please note that there might be more specific assessment criteria for learning assignments which will be given at the beginning of the study unit.
