Objectives

Acute and General Practice Nursing 5 ECTS

Competence Goals:

The student knows how to assess the condition of a client and how to make a nursing care plan based on the assessment. S/he knows how to follow and implement the care plan and to do this as a member of a multi-professional team in acute and general practice nursing environments. The student is familiar with contact, distance, network and mobile services available and used in general practice nursing work

Special characteristics of the acute and general practice nursing and the environment.

Assessment of vital functions and condition of the client/patient

Nursing in different phases of acute and general practice nursing process.

Guidance and support of the acutely ill patient and self management of the patient with chronic illnesses

Clinical laboratory and radiology in acute and general practice nursing.

Assessment

1. Individual assignment; approved/must be completed

2. Written group work assignment: numeric assessment (0-5).

  • Factors which have influence onnumeric assessment : continuous assessment, quality of the individual assignment and working and commitment to the co-operation in group
  • attendance at lecturesand seminars 80 %, practical sessions and simulations 100%
