Osaamistavoitteet ja teemat

The student will learn the basics of additive manufacturing. The goal is to familirize to different 3D-printing technologies and to the specifications. Student learns the basics of DFAM principle (Design for Additive manufacturing) and the general additive manufacturing process chain. As a outcome the student will have sufficient knowledge of different technologies to implement the design for 3D-printing. Usage of different printers are not covered in this book exam.

 
Arviointikriteerit

Assessment 0-5. Assessment is based on the result of the book exam. Satisfactory skills/knowledge = 1 ; Good skills/knowledge and basic understanding of the topic = 3 ; Excellent skills/knowledge and deeper understanding of the topic, the ability to apply the information in different context = 5.

Sisältö

Student learns the basics of additive manufacturing and the applications via book exam.

Topic that are included:

  • Introduction to AM and basic principles
  • General additive manufacturing process
  • Different AM technologies (VAT photopolymerization, powder bed fusion, extrusion based systems, material jetting, binder jetting, direct energy deposition, sheet lamination). Focused on FDM-technology.
  • Post-processing of the print
  • DFAM (Design for Additive Manufacturing)
  • AM product design process and printing process chart
