Objectives

Competence goals:

You have mastered professional, care-related and resource-oriented interaction with people and customers of different ages and types as well as those close to them.

You can act in accordance with the principles of professional ethics applied in the field and take responsibility for your actions and their repercussions.

You have achieved the requisite oral and written proficiency in the second domestic language, as specified in the Government Decree on Universities of Applied Sciences (1129/2014, Section 7).

Themes and essential content:

Professional interaction in the various phases of an individual’s life

  • Professional and care-related interaction
  • Finnish language and communication, communication skills in work communities
  • Customers as experts of their own lives, resource orientation
  • Psychosocial growth and development

Ethics in nursing

  • Customer work skills
  • Significance of cultural background in customer contact and interaction
  • Essential theories of ethics, virtue ethics, consequentialism and deontological ethics

Swedish

  • Language proficiency required in Section 7 of the Government Decree on Universities of Applied Sciences (1129/2014) 7§
