Objectives

Student develops basic oral and written communication skills and is familiar with the Finnish culture. Student gets basic skills in Finnish for simple communication situations in everyday life. Students learn to introduce themselves and others, can ask and answer questions about personal details, such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has. Student is able to express basic ideas and manages in everyday situations in Finnish. He/she can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

Content

Objectives:

Students develop basic oral and written communication skills and are familiar with the Finnish culture. Students get basic skills in Finnish for simple communication situations in everyday life. Students learn to introduce themselves and others, can ask and answer questions about personal details, such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has.The student is able to express basic ideas and manage in everyday situations in Finnish. He/she can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

  • understanding easy Finnish for everyday subjects

Assessment

Active participation in lessons (min. 80 %), approved assignments, vocabulary tests, exam, oral exam.

Excellent skills: The student is able interact in simple everyday situations fluently.

Good skills: The student is able to interact in simple everyday situations with some assistance.

Satisfactory skills: The student is able to interact in everyday situations with assistance.

Fail: The student is not able to interact in everyday situations./ The student has not returned the required assignments. /The student has not passed the exams.
