Objective The student knows common quality management systems and their impact on business strategy. The student understands the role of quality management as an integrated part of business management. The student is able to assess business processes using quality management criteria.
The student learns the fundamental concepts and principals of Total Quality Management (TQM) which is one of the most important organizational innovations in the 20th century. S/he also understands how TQM s applied in different quality management systems which are used by SME companies. The student applies his/her knowledge in the Quality Self-Assessment assignment based on either Malcolm Baldrige Business Excellence Model (MB Model) or EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management) Excellence Model.

The written assignment is the following: Quality Self-assessment assignment of an SME using by Malcolm Baldrige quality criteria
The student makes three evaluations from every individual course. The first evaluation is the evaluation of one´s own learning. The second evaluation is a peer-evaluation if the student has done group work during the courses. The third evaluation is the official evaluation of the course in Optima.
The final grade in winha requires that all the assignments and/or exams have been approved and all the three evaluations have been completed from every individual course.
