Introduction to digital technology. Principal circuits and representation of data . How digital function creates response (OUTPUT) from stimulus (INPUT).
Representation of numbers and characters . Number systems : binary 0b , hexadecimal 0x and decimal . UNSIGNED ( so called Natural numbers ) and SIGNED ( so called positive and negative numbers , twos complement system ) data type. Fixed point and floating point representation . Binary coded decimal numbers , BCD. ASCII representation of alphanumeric characters,
Boolean logical operators : AND , OR , NOT , XOR (exclusive OR ). Logical statement with VHDL . Parity bit . Seven bit Hamming code word.
