Learning outcome:

Students are familiar with the forms of international tourism and tourist flows, tourism destinations and areas, and international tourism operators. Students understand the interactive relationship between sustainable tourism and culture from the viewpoints of both the tourist’s experience and production of tourism services. Students have an overall picture of the structure of tourism and the tourism business in Finland. They recognise Finland as an attractive destination for various tourist groups. Students are familiar with tourism terminology and concepts and the frames of reference used in tourism.

Learning outcome:
Student understands the concepts of tourism and culture and the
relationship between tourism and culture both from the perspective of
a tourist experience and from the view of producers of tourism
services. Students will have an overall picture on the structure of
tourism and tourism industry in Finland and will view Finland as an
attractive destination for different segments of tourists. Students
acquire familiarisation with the types of international tourism and
tourist flows, destinations and the actors of international tourism. A
student learns basic terminology, concepts and references of the
tourism field.
