Pedagogical arrangements

Our pedagogical approach includes various pedagogical methods, such as tutorials, lectures, company visits, seminars and workshops (e.g. Above Ordinary Entrepreneurship Day, Weak Signal Family Game) and learning assignments (e.g. various reaction papers). The specified timetable of the learning process of eight weeks is planned together with the working life and given at the beginning of the study unit. Tutoring and multi- stakeholder assessment of the learning process take place throughout the study unit according to the assessment criteria.

 

Depending on the cooperation partners the development task and/or problem may vary on yearly basis.

Content

The student gets a perception of the arctic entrepreneurship and innovations in tourism. Entrepreneurial qualities and skills of the student are also in focus.

 

The student:

  • gets a perception of the innovative entrepreneurship in tourism
  • understands the significance and character of tourism innovations by using foresight tools
  • adopts an innovative and entrepreneurial attitude
  • makes analysis on his/her personal qualities and skills from the viewpoint of entrepreneurship
Assessment

Excellent skills

The student shows excellent critical, analytical and reflective thinking and practical skills in his/her studies and work-related tasks. He/she has excellent knowledge of entrepreneurship and innovations in tourism. The student is able to make a deep, reflective analysis on his/her personal and skills from the viewpoint of entrepreneurship. All the assignments are performed according to the instructions.

Good skills

The student shows critical, analytical and reflective thinking and practical skills in his/her studies and work-related tasks. He/she has good knowledge of entrepreneurship and innovations in tourism. The student is able to make a reflective analysis on his/her personal and skills from the viewpoint of entrepreneurship. All the assignments are performed mostly according to the instructions.

Satisfactory skills

The student shows basic-level critical, analytical and reflective thinking and practical skills in his/her studies and work-related tasks. He/she has basic knowledge of entrepreneurship and innovations in tourism. The student is able to make a basic-level reflective analysis on his/her personal and skills from the viewpoint of entrepreneurship. All the assignments are performed mostly according to the instructions.

Fail

The student does not complete the assignments according to instructions or does not attend the learning situations at all. He/she does not pass the assignments and/or the exam as required.
