Osaamistavoitteet ja teemat

3K7246 (and 3K7245): The student understands the phases of the design process through practical work. He/she knows how to work on the basis of a real assignment and in the customer interface. The student can produce the technical documents required in the assignment and monitor their quality. He/she knows how to work independently and in groups depending on the assignment. He/she knows how to apply the English language using the vocabulary of his/her own field of expertise and present the progress and results of the project in English. The project follows the CDIO principles and the implementation of the assignments is done according to the phases of the CDIO process. Detailed topics: Phases of a design process and quality control of the work; Working in the customer interface; Producing technical documents and quality control of the documents; Implementing real assignments; Use of the English language in real situations. Technology-based entrepreneurship in mechanical engineering, business opportunities and entrepreneurship.

Assessment 0-5: The assessment is based on participation and activity, on the quality of the technical documents, self-evaluation, feedback from the client. 1: The student can use the methods defined in the course with guidance. There are clear lacks of knowledge. 3: The student can spontaneously use the methods defined in the course. Deeper knowledge is missing. 5: The student can use and apply in practice the knowledge learned in the course and can use it in new contexts.
